CAES Votes for President
The adults may vote tomorrow, but CAES students hit the ballot box today.
Students had been prepared by their teachers to make their choice before approaching the voting booths set up in the CAES Lobby just outside of Nurse Stalls' Clinic
Students received a ballot and then stepped inside the voting booth
Just like the high voter turnout that is expected for the real election, there were lines at CAES
Once students had made their selection, they dropped of their ballots and received a special sticker letting everybody know that they had voted
After all of the votes were counted, CAES named Barack Obama their President for another 4 years by a vote of 272-248.
A big THANKS to Mrs. Lenz for organizing the CAES Election and to Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Coffman for running everything in the lobby.

CAES collecting for Toys for Tots
Carrollton Elementary is joining the Smithfield High Marching Packer Band in their Toys for Tots drive. Through Friday, November 30th, we are collecting toys or monetary donations to donate to the Isle of Wight/Surry chapter of Toys for Tots.
On the 30th, the SHS Packer Band will be coming over to CAES to pick up our items and hopefully treat our students to a little show. Who knows- we may even get a visit from somebody really special. Let's blow them away with our CAES spirit!
Look for these boxes around the CAES Lobby to place your new and unwrapped toy.
Girl Scouts Food Drive at CAES
Girl Scout Troops 179 & 1401 are collecting food through Friday, November 16th for the Isle of Wight Branch of the Southeastern Virginia Food Bank. Many of the young ladies in these two troops are Carrollton Elementary students!
There are boxes in the CAES Lobby or you can send food in with your student and we'll be sure to get it into the donation boxes.
In addition, the collection boxes will be out for the 2nd Grade Chorus Concert on Tuesday, November 13th. Please consider helping a local family in need this holiday season!

Old Pointe National Bank Sponsoring Food Drive for CAES
A BIG thanks to Old Pointe National Bank in Carrollton (in front of the Food Lion) for conducting a food drive just for needy Carrollton Elementary families.
You can drop off your donation anytime before Friday November 16th. CAES will be going to collect our generous donations on the afternoon of the 16th and distributing them to our CAES families the week of Thanksgiving.
Again- a huge THANK YOU to Branch Manager, Joyce Dunning, and the rest of her friendly Old Pointe National Bank crew for thinking about Carrollton Elementary and doing their part to make the Thanksgiving holiday a little nicer for several CAES families.
Just to show that Old Pointe truly cares about their community, they are also selling some beautiful bracelets to support their Relay for Life team. Make sure when you go by to donate to the CAES Food Drive, that you take a peek at the bracelets and support their Relay Team.
